Psychology of Fonts
Fonts can convey different characteristics and create different impressions.
Serif
You usually see serif fonts on books, magazines and print advertising materials. They exude reliability, comfort, tradition and respect. On websites, you will most likely see them on university websites, banks and other financial institutions that need to market their years of experience in their field. Modern web design also choose serif fonts for headers to emphasize certain messages.
Sans Serif
Sans serif is most commonly used on websites because it makes text easier to read. It is objective, modern and clean. It is the best font for websites because it is fuss-free so it’s suited for text-heavy websites.
Script
Script fonts exude elegance and creativity. We normally see them on events management sites and industries that appeal to the romantic and whimsical, such as wedding sites. Use them sparingly, however, because while they may look pretty, script fonts make reading the text a little bit tricky.
